FAQs

What does your review include?
We edit and provide comment on structure, content and language, and we often suggest changes to the substance of your essay, word / phrase changes, and English style and grammar.   For each essay, you can expect overall comments from the reviewer as well as detailed tracked changes in the document.  For a "set of essays", besides everything described above, the reviewer also provides overall comments on how your essays flow together and depict a holistic view of you.

Will the reviewer critique my essays multiple times?
Depending on the "level of completion" of the essay, the reviewer may offer you a repeat review either free of charge (if it is very refined) or at a nominal fee.

What makes you different from admissions consultants?
Our reviewers are all real business school alums only – we don’t contract or hire other editors. We were founded by four alumni from HBS, Stanford and Wharton, and the review panel has grown since to include Columbia and Chicago Booth.

Why are B-school students from these schools doing this? Don't they have real jobs?
This is our part time job for a few months in the year;  we do it to earn some extra cash, some of which we use to donate to our favorite charities.

Are  essays reviewed by the alums of the same school? i.e., will a Wharton alum review my Wharton essay?
We try our best to have an alum of the same school review the essays – in some cases, especially close to the deadline, this may not always be possible.

I don't see any testimonials here. Do you have satisfied customers?
Yes. Testimonials are pointless - anyone can make them up. We have several extremely satisfied customers and would be happy to put you in touch with some who have volunteered to recommend our services.

How do you maintain such low rates?
We don't do this for a living (which doesn't mean we aren't very good at it). We charge what we think is a reasonable charge for the reviewers time.

Can I see a sample of your work?
Sure. Send us a request at essaycritique@gmail.com and we'll send you a mock up of our work.

How do I know you're good and will be helpful?
You won't know until you try us - so please give us a shot. We look forward to working with you and helping you along the journey.
